While I never envisioned myself as a professional golfer, I believe I was introduced to the game to make a different kind of impact—by providing the next generation and avid golfers with the best gear possible.
forelinksgolf has been self-funded from the start, with no outside investments, allowing me to build the brand exactly how I envision it. This business isn’t just work; it’s something I wake up excited about every day. It gives me hope that I can make a real difference doing what I love.
I believe the right equipment won’t automatically make a golfer better, but it can give them the confidence to perform at their best. Creating a glove that not only feels amazing but helps golfers grip their clubs with more control is what drives me. Currently, we offer just one product—the Cabsoft golf glove. My focus is on perfecting it as our hero product before expanding into new offerings as we grow. Every detail of the Cabsoft glove—feel, fit, and performance—has been carefully crafted. When you wear it, you can experience the ultimate connection between you and your club, giving you the confidence to perform at your best.
How it's made
The Cabsoft golf glove is made from hand-selected lambskin leather, offering an incredibly soft and pure feel. It’s thin yet durable, snug yet comfortable—designed to fit like a second skin. We work closely with our manufacturer to ensure every glove maintains the highest standards of quality, delivering consistent performance and craftsmanship with each pair.
The solopreneur
At forelinksgolf, everything you see is built and run by me. While I occasionally work with freelancers to support certain tasks, I take full responsibility for every aspect of the business. From product development to customer service, it’s all handled by me with a deep passion for the game and a commitment to providing golfers with the best golf gloves.
The Journey
forelinksgolf launched in mid-July 2023, after a failed attempt at creating affordable golf apparel in late 2022. The idea for golf gloves came to me while working behind the desk at my local golf course. I noticed that gloves were one of the most sold items, right after golf balls. It was clear there was demand, and I saw an opportunity to sell at least one glove a day.
I’ve always believed that a golf glove is the most important accessory a golfer can invest in. I knew I could create a high-performing glove that felt better than the competition but at a price that was more accessible. That’s when I decided to build a glove that would provide golfers with the best connection to their club.
One night, I began researching manufacturers on Alibaba to create my golf gloves. After hours of looking, I found a manufacturer in Pakistan that seemed to offer quality at a fair price. I ordered samples that night and received them a week later. They felt great, so I placed my first production order, which cost around $5k.
When the gloves arrived in October 2023, I opened the box and was devastated. Every glove was different from the samples. I called the manufacturer, but they denied any issues, insisting the gloves were the same. I tried to sell them anyway, but by mid-December, I couldn’t deal with the quality anymore. It didn’t meet the standards I wanted, so I stopped selling and took a break until early January, uncertain of what to do next.
Just after New Year's 2024, I read Shoe Dog, a memoir by Nike founder Phil Knight, and was inspired by his journey of traveling to meet a manufacturer and building a close relationship. I decided to follow his lead and research where the best golf gloves were made. I found out that most gloves come from Indonesia, known for its Cabretta leather, ideal for golf gloves.
I contacted dozens of manufacturers in Indonesia, and six responded. I asked if I could visit in person to discuss creating “the best golf glove in the world.” Four manufacturers agreed, so I spent $900 of my own money and flew to Yogyakarta. There, I met with a family-owned business with over 15 years of experience. They not only made golf gloves but also produced their own leather.
After testing multiple samples and refining every detail—fit, feel, leather, performance—we finally created the glove I had been dreaming of. In late March, after months of hard work and saving, I placed my first order. I was beyond excited.
On June 2nd, 2024, the gloves finally arrived. As I opened the first of seven giant boxes, it felt like a light was shining on me, like opening a treasure chest. I held up the perfected "Cabsoft" golf glove, and it was everything I had hoped for. The packaging and the quality of the glove exceeded my expectations. Just two weeks after receiving them, I started selling "The All-New Cabsoft."
I’ve always believed my golf glove outperforms the rest in terms of quality and craftsmanship. However, I’ve also realized that having a great product alone isn’t enough, especially when competing with the big, established golf brands. I know I have a long road ahead, but I’m excited and ready to take on the challenge.
Right now, forelinksgolf is operated from the comfort of my bedroom. It’s just me running the show, and while it may not be the most conventional or ideal setup, it’s the most practical way for me to save on office and warehouse costs. This allows me to invest more in the things that truly matter—like golf glove quality control, hiring freelancers, and covering other business expenses.
The business is still growing, and I have huge plans for the future, including expanding into retail, supporting charitable causes, and adding new products to the line. I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received so far, and I’m excited to see where forelinksgolf goes this year.
